Band 7-9 forms will be sent home soon. Please have them filled out and returned by October 2, 2026, along with payment for Band Shirts, if needed. The Music Instrument Rental Fee and the Band Resource Fee will be in your PowerSchool accounts in October.

♫ Band Spirit Wear

Our Spirit Wear store is now open! Show off your love of the band. Options available to customize with instrument or even a parent! Orders are set to arrive the start of November. If ordering to give to your student at Christmas, let Ms. Hurdman mpsmpsmusic@gmail.com know and she'll get it to you in secret.

♫♫♫ Cookie Dough and Perogy Fundraiser

This is one of our yearly fundraisers where band students sell cookie dough, perogies, cinnamon buns, spreads, and muffins. We will be having our rapid sell event Wednesday, October 7th, at lunchtime in the Band room. Details and information will come home soon. We encourage all band members to participate in selling. Our goal is 4 or more tubs per student. There will be prizes for the most tubs sold, honorable mentions, and more! The music program appreciates the continued support from the community, school, students, and parents. Thank you!

♫ Summer Instrument Rental

If you had an instrument rental over the summer, please return ASAP so we can finalize instruments for the school year.

♫♫Jazz Band

♫♫ Jazz Band will be starting tentatively on October 2nd at 8:00am. Jazz band will be Tuesdays at lunch and Fridays at 8:00am. Everyone welcome!

♫♫♫ Volunteers Needed!

All of the off-site workshops in the band program require volunteers. We are planning day and overnight workshops for the 2025-2026 year. Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents are all welcome to volunteer, as long as they have Security Clearance. MPS MPS is fundraising through Healthy Hunger this year. Every time you order a Healthy Hunger Lunch on Mondays, the proceeds go directly to the band program. Thank you for your support!

TruEarth Laundry Strips: Wow! A true eco-friendly product. No plastic jugs, just compressed soap strips that actually clean your laundry, toilet bowls, laundry stains, kitchens, and dishes! This is an ongoing fundraiser.

Empty Bottles: Keep your empties and donate them to MPS Music Parents Society at the bottle depots. Information on where and which codes to use are below:

1) South Pointe Bottle Depot (behind The Home Depot on 130th Avenue SE) 5126 126 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2Z 0H2 Please let them know the funds go to the Mountain Park School Band.

2) Deerfoot Bottle Depot (near Douglasdale Professional Centre) 11440 29 St SE, Calgary, AB T2Z 3V5. Please tag the bags as LG782.
