Art 7

While considering the elements of arts, students will explore a variety of media including, but not limited to, water colour paint, charcoal, clay sculpture, alcohol inks and acrylic paint. Students will learn new skills and techniques and be able to reflect and communicate about their composition and intentions.

Concert Band 7 – Woodwind (Full Year Courses)

In Band 7, students have the opportunity to choose their 'forever' instrument from the woodwind, brass and percussion families.

The focus of this year-long course is learning how to play and maintain their instrument through clinics, a band camp, performances at concerts and music festivals, and working with guest musicians and conductors.

CTF Construction 7

Students will learn the proper use of tools and machinery to construct NUMEROUS small projects such as Jacob's Ladder, Fool Stick, and Phone Organizer. A final project will focus on a structures and forces unit which requires the construction of either bridges, trusses or towers. Teams will compete against each other during this final project and prizes will be awarded!

CTF Design Studies 7

This course provides students the opportunity to determine and apply the fundamentals of various software applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, web design, photography, image editing, drawing, and graphic animation. The wide range of tasks being introduced will allow students to explore technical skills with organization, management, communication, and ethical decision-making being developed throughout. Projects explore design processes in two and three dimensions, problem solving, visual identity, and basic design practices, and discussions.

CTF Electro-Technologies 7 – Robotics

This course explores the use of robots and their integration into society. Students will design, develop, program and test robotics systems and operate a robot to complete challenges (plan, create, appraise, communicate). As part of this CTF course, students will be able to explore their passion and interests as they learn about the various career possibilities in the Electro-Technology profession.

CTF Foods 7

CTF Foods 7 focuses on kitchen safety, introductory cooking skills, and baking basics. Typical recipes may include cookies, muffins, biscuits, pancakes, ice cream, cake pops, cupcakes, squares and easy after school snacks. Students also complete a project where they choose their own group members, and what they want to cook. Students work together to find recipes, create a grocery list, and plan their remaining Foods class periods. This final challenge allows students to use all the knowledge and skills they learned throughout the course while working with their friends to make their favorite foods.

Drama 7

Let out your creativity! We will first cover the movement of mime so that you can create any set or prop you will ever need, and then we will participate in comedy performance styles, clown work, and a huge variety of character options. From there we will investigate the world of radio plays and explore what our voices can do and the sound effects we can create, finally we will explore puppetry through the creation and performance process. Be ready to be on your feet and create something new!
