MPS Weekly Update | June 13, 2025
It’s hard to believe we are into the final countdown to summer, but we have a busy couple of weeks ahead and want to ensure everyone has the information they need to have a smooth end to the school year.
Grade 9 Farewell | June 19th @ 4:30PM
This year's Grade 9 Farewell Event will take place on the evening of Thursday, June 19th at the school. Fees can be found in PowerSchool. Please contact the front office if you require support with navigating the PowerSchool portal.
Track and Field Meet
Unfortunately, the much-anticipated Track and Field Meet was cancelled due to poor air quality. However, MPS would like to recognize and thank the parents who made time to volunteer that day in support of our amazing student-athletes.
Yellow Bus Service for 2025-26 | Registration Now Open
Families are now able to register for yellow school bus service for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. Transportation registration is available using your MyCBE account. Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025, for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. Confirmed routes will be posted in August.
Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.
Transportation can be cancelled with no financial impact by submitting the cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2025.
Library News
Library books are now due back to the school, please have a look around your house, locker and classroom and return all school library books to the Learning commons book return bin. Books that are not returned will incur a replacement fee.
Telus Spark Science Centre
With generous support from TELUS, every Grade 7 student in Calgary and surrounding areas is eligible for a free Purple Galaxy Pass to TELUS Spark Science Centre. What’s the Purple Galaxy Pass? It’s your all-access pass to a full year of science-fueled fun! Grade 7 students get unlimited general admission to TELUS Spark from August 2025 through August 2026—totally free. Chess club is now over for the rest of the year. Thank you to all chess enthusiasts who participated and see you all next year!

MPS Learning Lounge
The week of June 16th is the final week we will be offering morning sessions to brush up on core subject areas, prepare for summative assessments and finish the school year strong! All students are welcome to make use of our in-person Learning Support Sessions each morning before classes in the MPS Learning Commons as follows:
- Monday - Thursday from 8:30-9:00 AM.
- Front doors will be unlocked for student entry from 8:25-8:35 AM only. Students must be here by 8:35 at the latest to make effective use of this support. Students arriving after this time will need to wait until the doors re-open at the morning bell.
- Students are welcome to attend as often as needed but must come prepared to learn with assignments, homework, test review or specific topics they require support with (ex. polynomials, persuasive essay writing, etc.).
- Students will be provided access to computers when required to utilize D2L and written assignment work only.
