MPS Weekly Update | May 30, 2025
As we wrap up the busy month of May, I must mention the incredible community event MPS hosted on Thursday, May 29th. Our first annual Beats on the Black Top and MPS around the World was a huge success! We had a tremendous turnout comprised of community members, past and future students, along with so many of our wolverine staff and students, many of whom brought their families to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Heartfelt gratitude to our families who supported and attended, our MPS Parent Music Society, our uber-talented Ms. Wahl and Ms. LeBlanc, alongside our very own SWAT Team who lead much of this work and Jazz Band members who dazzled us all evening long. We are looking forward to building on this new tradition as we continue our exploration of who we are as a learning community and our shared values as Canadians and neighbours.

Mountain Park School’s Track and Field Meet is fast approaching. The team needs parent volunteers to help run the meet which is occurring on June 10th from 8:30am- 4:00pm. No track and field experience necessary.
If interested, please email Mrs. Gaunt at brgaunt@cbe.ab.ca. We will need about 8 security-cleared volunteers to make this day a success.
Grade 9 Farewell | Save the Date
This year's Grade 9 Farewell Event will take place on the evening of June 19th at the school. Fees can be found in PowerSchool. Please contact us at the front office if you require support with navigating the PowerSchool portal.
Yellow Bus Service for 2025-26 | Registration Now Open
Families are now able to register for yellow school bus service for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. Transportation registration is available using your MyCBE account. Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025, for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. Confirmed routes will be posted in August.
Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.
Transportation can be cancelled with no financial impact by submitting the cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2025.
Library News
Many students have overdue library books, and it would be great to get these books returned to the learning commons so others can enjoy the books before the end of the school year. If you are still reading the books, please renew your books with Mrs. Lybbert in the Learning Commons.
Believe in your-shelf and your ability to return your over dues! Please get these items to the library as quickly as you can.
SWAT Team | Update
The SWAT Team, along with Ms. LeBlanc and Ms. Takla, wish to thank all the students and staff for their support over the past few months as everyone contributed to this student-driven initiative to improve well-being at MPS by looking at students' sense of belonging and connection within the school. The culminating school event on May 29th titled “MPS around the World," was a huge success and we are looking forward to continuing this new tradition in the years ahead
