MPS Weekly Update | Oct 11, 2024
As part of our school’s Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and in building a Culture of Well-Being, we have taken time in homeroom to deepen our understanding who we are as individuals before we move into discovering our collective MPS story. Students used graffiti art to answer the questions “Where do I come from? Where am I going? Why am I here? and Who am I?” As a whole school, we are exploring these questions and the value of each unique individual at MPS to help us set the foundation upon which we build our collective MPS identity as a growing learning community.
We encourage conversations at home about each of our intentionally-designed Friday homeroom periods that support student well-being, diversity and inclusion.
Student Services
Students who have an Individual Program Plan will receive their IPP today to take home for review, feedback and signatures. Please keep the IPP for your reference and simply detach the signature page to return to school. Any concerns or questions can be directed to your child’s IPP advocate or to Student Services at any point during the school year: Ms. Miles (grades 6/7) and Ms. James (grade 8/9)

As the beautiful leaves signal the turning of the season, I find myself reflecting on all the work that our staff in partnership with families do to support student success. The impact we can have on a child’s life when we work together on a singular focus is impressive and deeply rewarding. I am truly grateful to lead Mountain Park School, filled with so many awesome and talented students. Each day, I find myself inspired to work alongside such a skilled and dedicated staff, and deeply appreciative of our supportive parent community.
Wishing all our students, staff and their families a happy Thanksgiving long weekend.
