Take Our Kids to Work Day (Grade 9 only) – Wednesday, Nov 6th

On Nov 6, Grade 9 students are able to accompany an adult (usually parent/guardian/family member) to their worksite to learn more about their workplace. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about what a workday may look like and allow them to start thinking about employment, career planning and life after high school.  If you would like your child to accompany you to your workplace on this day, please email your child’s homeroom teacher (found in your my CBE PowerSchool Account under My Schedule - Friday) to ensure their absence is recorded accurately.

There will be alternate activities for those students who come to school that day. For more information, please visit this website. If you have any questions about this event, please email your child’s homeroom teacher or Ms. LeBlanc at hlleblanc@cbe.ab.ca

Remembrance Day Assembly | Nov 7

Community members are welcome to MPS to join us for our Remembrance Day assembly on Thursday, Nov 7th. The assembly will commence at 11:00 am.

In honour of the veterans who are within our MPS family, we would like to spotlight veterans (past or present) in your life that you would like to share with the school. We are creating a photo slideshow that students will watch during the assembly. All photos can be sent to Ms. LeBlanc (hlleblanc@cbe.ab.ca). When sending your photos, be sure to include the name of the veteran, the name of the student, and a line or two about their time served. All photos must be submitted by the end of the day today (Friday, November 1st.)

Parent Session: Anxiety and Youth | Nov 6, 2024

Our neighbouring McKenzie Highlands School, in partnership with Recovery Alberta, will be hosting a parent presentation titled ‘Anxiety and Youth’ on Wednesday, November 6 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Attached, you will find a QR Code and link to an Eventbrite page where individuals can register for free to attend. While pre-registration is encouraged, McKenzie Highlands School will also welcome walk-ins on the evening of the event.

Please access the link in the attached poster for more information and to register.
