The Monsters and Heroes Art Show | May 8

The Monsters and Heroes Art Show returns for its third year on May 8th at The New Gallery (208 Centre St S, Calgary, AB T2G 2B6), showcasing a collaboration between students across Calgary. This exhibition brings together approximately 400 students from 12 CBE schools, along with participant artists from the Alberta University of the Arts, along with practicing artists and professors to create a multi-stage artistic journey that highlights creativity, imagination, and growth.

Beginning with Grade 4 students who design original “Monsters” and “Heroes,” the artwork evolves through Jr. High and High School classrooms before being transformed by university artists into final pieces. Families are warmly invited to attend the opening night from 6–9 PM and experience this powerful celebration of student voice, collaboration, and artistic development.
