It has been impressive to see the talent and dedication of all our Wolverine athletes who hit the court this week with great energy and heart. We commend ALL athletes for coming to try-outs and look forward to an amazing season ahead.

Winter Dance | Save the Date | Volunteers Needed

We will be having our first school dance of the year on Thursday, January 15th from 5pm – 8pm to celebrate the new year and conclusion of Semester 1. All grade 6-9 Mountain Park students are welcome to attend. School attendance is required on the day of the dance (unless it is an excused appointment). The cost will be $5 at the door and there will be a concession stand open with snacks, drinks, and pizza for purchase. We are in need of parent volunteers in order for the dance to take place, specifically from 6:30 - 8pm. If we do not get enough parent volunteers, we will have to cancel this event. Come on out and have some teen-watching fun! If you are able to volunteer and have your volunteer clearance, please reach out to Ms. LeBlanc hlleblanc@cbe.ab.ca by the end of day on Sunday, January 11th.

Grade 9 High School Information

The high school registration process starts next week with a visit from Lord Beaverbrook High School's guidance counsellors. While conversations regarding the transition to high school have already begun in students' classrooms, this will be their first information session from Beaverbrook. They will be talking to our students about how the high school process works during class time on Wednesday, January 14th.

On Monday, January 26th grade 9 MPS students will be visiting Lord Beaverbrook High School. Forms for this trip went home on Friday, January 9th. This will provide students with an opportunity to view the facility and attend presentations regarding the various programs in the school. It will allow our students to see and have hands-on experience to aid them in their choices for high school registration.

In addition to the student tours, there will also be an open house at Lord Beaverbrook High School for Grade 9 parents and families on Thursday, January 29th. Please see the invitation for more details.

We have had the opportunity to speak to all grade 6 students about this exciting offering.
