As the end of the first semester is fast approaching, we encourage you to please take a look at your My CBE PowerSchool account for outstanding fees. These are located under the student fees & service registration tab. They are for Field trips, Optional Course Fees, Noon Hour Activity Fee and Athletics
Yearbooks:
Our 2023 2024 Yearbooks are now available for purchase.
We have created a YouTube tutorial to help you pay fees and purchase yearbooks on your PowerSchool parent account. Following is a link to the video. https://youtu.be/Kx35I3PwVt8
Student Pick Up:
If students are being picked up during class time, please provide them with a note to show the teacher and come to the office in a timely manner. This process prevents classroom interruptions and delays as we try to track them down. Thank you to the parents who are already following this process.

Spirit Week:
Spirit Week will be held the week of December 18th – 22nd.
· Monday, December 18th will be Holiday Character Day where students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite holiday/movie character
· Tuesday, December 19th will be Pajama Day where students are encouraged to stay cozy in their PJs for the day
· Wednesday, December 20th will be “Anything but a Backpack – Holiday Edition” where students are encouraged to carry their supplies in a Santa Hat, stocking, present, or any other item that is not their backpack.
· Thursday, December 21st will be Holiday Hat Day where students are encouraged to wear hats or headbands that represent the season
· Friday, December 22nd will be Ugly Sweater Day where students are encouraged to wear their ugliest holiday sweaters.
Street Fair:
We will be having the annual MPS Street Fair on Friday, December 22nd. Street Fair is a 45 minute block of time where we come together as a community to celebrate the season before our Winter Break. Each homeroom has come up with an idea and plan for a ‘winter carnival’ station. During the 45 minutes, students will be able to go to different classrooms and partake in the games and activities to enjoy connecting with their peers and win prizes. Most games will cost money (anywhere from $1-$2), but there will be activities that don’t have a cost associated. The money raised will go towards our fundraising initiative for the Calgary Food Bank.
High School Tour: Lord Beaverbrook
We will be taking our grade 9 students on a tour of Lord Beaverbrook the morning of January 30th. More information will follow in the New Year. Parents and students are encouraged to book their calendars for LBHS Open House the evening of January 29th. Please see their invitation here.
Band:
Congratulations to the Band Students who performed in the Winter Concert last night. You all played beautifully and splendidly. It was a pleasure to hear our fantastic musicians and the result of all their hard work!
Jazz Band - there are NO rehearsals next week.
Happy Holidays!
