Year-End Spring Dance
We will be having our final dance for the 2023/24 school year on Thursday, June 13th from 5pm – 8pm. All grade 6-9 Mountain Park students are welcome to attend. The cost will be $5 at the door and there will be a concession stand open with snacks, drinks, and pizza for purchase. We are in need of parent volunteers for this event. If you are able to volunteer, and have your volunteer clearance, please reach out to Ms. LeBlanc hlleblanc@cbe.ab.ca.

Grade 9 Picnic | Tuesday, June 25
We are planning a walking trip to Fish Creek Park for a grade 9 picnic during the final week of classes with lunch generously provided by our School Council. Grade 9 families will receive a separate letter via School Messenger with more details shortly.
Upcoming Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs)
These standardized tests are administered annually in May and June to all Alberta students in grades 6 and 9. They reflect the essential skills and knowledge that all students in the province of Alberta are expected to achieve. It is important to note that PATs are only one of numerous and continuous ways teachers evaluate students throughout the school year.
Raw scores will be available in PowerSchool and official results will be sent home with students in the Fall. Parents who wish to learn more about these assessments can access the guides provided by Alberta Education below:
Action Required | Next Year Registration
If families with students in grade 6-8 are not returning to MPS next year, please send an email to loataylor@cbe.ab.ca as this information is critical to our planning related to resources and staffing.
Library
Library books are now due back to the school. We ask that you kindly check with your student to ensure they have returned all books borrowed to the book return bin at the front of the Learning Commons.

What do I do?
What do I do?
This library book is 42
Years overdue.
I admit that it's mine
But I can't pay the fine--
Should I turn it in
Or hide it again?
What do I do?
What do I do?
Please return all library books. It doesn’t matter how many years you’ve had them….

· Monday - Thursday from 8:30-9:00 am
· Front doors will be unlocked for student entry from 8:25-8:35 am only. Students must be here by 8:35 at the latest in order to make effective use of this support. Students arriving after this time will need to wait until the doors re-open at the morning bell.
· Students are welcome to attend as often as needed but must come prepared to learn with assignments, homework, test review or specific topics they require support with (ex. polynomials, persuasive essay writing, etc.).
· Students will be provided access to computers when required to utilize D2L and written assignment work only.
