Meet the Teacher:

A reminder that meet the teacher night is on Thursday, October 21^st from 5-7:30pm.  It will be an informal drop in meeting and no conference bookings are needed.

 

Healthy Hunger:

We are excited to let you know that MPS will be starting our Healthy Hunger program again!  For those who are new to Healthy Hunger, it is an online platform that allows families to order hot lunches delivered to their kids at school – a fun treat for the kids, and also one of Mountain Park School’s main fundraisers.  A win win!

 

We’ve set up lunches every Wednesday starting October 4^th (deadline for orders is the Friday prior to each lunch).  We have selected a variety of restaurants, and families can order as many or few as they choose.

 

It’s easy to order, just go to www.healthyhunger.ca

·      Click on “Register Student” to set up your account or sign in if you have an account already

·      You can add and manage all of your children in the same account

·      For each student, ensure you’ve selected Mountain Park School, and the correct Homeroom/Class to ensure the food finds it’s way to them

·      You can sign up for as many as you like and when you are done ordering you can pay online (no need to send $ to school –yay!)

·      You’ll get a notification when our team organizes more lunches

Volunteers with the Calgary Board of Education:

We welcome volunteers in the classroom, on field trips and with certain tasks at school or at home.  Certain activities or field trips would not be possible without the active participation of our volunteers.

 

As a CBE volunteer, you are placed in a position of trust with students, staff or property.  All adult volunteers require a valid security clearance – no exceptions.

 

Guest speakers or visitors to the school, and parents assisting their own child only are not considered to be volunteers, and do not require a security clearance.

 

This year, The Calgary Board of Education has made changes to the process.  There will now be a cost for your security clearance.  It is valid for five years and the cost is $21.25 which is charged during the online ePIC application.  This fee is not covered by the CBE.

 

Visit the CPS online system,  electronic Police Information Check (ePIC), to obtain your police clearance.

Forms:

In addition to the CBE online forms that must be completed by Sept. 18^th,  please complete the paper copy of the Acceptable Use of Technology and Student Declaration form.  Review with your child, sign and return to your child’s homeroom teacher by September 22^nd.
